Kindergarten in Doha, Qatar

Our youngest learners, aged 3 to 5 (Pre-KG to KG1), start a transformative journey with an enhanced international curriculum where learning happens through play-based activities and skill-building classes that encourage independence, communication and healthy living.

Our curriculum

Through The Hamilton Early Years International Curriculum, students develop key social, emotional, and personal life skills while building knowledge of the world around them. They grow through thematic units used as a springboard to identify each child's interests and aptitudes.

Literacy & Phonics

Discovering sounds with purpose

Students nurture a love of language through practical, story-rich experiences using Focus Stories to build vocabulary, comprehension, and storytelling.

In Pre-K our youngest learners explore Tales Toolkit and Helicopter Stories, while developing phonics through phonological awareness, environmental sounds, body percussion, instrumental sounds, rhythm and rhyme, voice sounds, blending, segmenting, and alliteration.

From KG1 they deepen creativity through Drawing Club. Phonics uses Read Write Inc. Phonics to make outstanding progress in reading and writing.

Islamic students learn about Islamic values and traditions in dedicated sessions.

Music

Expressing through music

Children sing familiar songs and rhymes, explore body percussion, and play instruments to develop rhythm, pitch, and tempo. They listen to music, respond through movement and discussion, and begin composing with simple symbols and patterns.

Music sessions are active and playful, supporting expressive confidence and musical vocabulary. Children perform songs and poems in groups, enhancing their ability to keep time and match pitch. They also develop performance skills through exit points, end-of-year productions, and school talent shows.

Communicating with the world

Children learn French, Spanish, or Arabic through engaging, practical sessions delivered by native speakers, helping them develop early listening and speaking skills.

Language is explored daily through greetings during register and our Country of the Month initiative, which introduces new cultures and key vocabulary. Through the celebration of Mother Tongue Language Day students honour the home languages of their families.

Information and Communication Technology (ICT)

Familiarizing with the digital world

Children explore ICT through hands-on, creative experiences that build digital confidence and curiosity. They use Seesaw to document their learning, recording videos, uploading photos, and using the microphone to reflect on their thinking.

Our learners are introduced to basic coding through toys and apps, creating simple sequences and solving problems with peers. They also experiment with digital storytelling, stop-motion animation, and digital art. Internet safety is a key focus—children learn to use technology responsibly, follow screen time rules, and speak up if something online makes them feel uncomfortable.
